Construction Progress and Updates

Construction has begun!

March 13 Update:  WE HAVE A FLOOR!!! Finally some decent weather, and the concrete for the downstairs floor was poured yesterday.  They hope to pour the upstairs floor next week -- and then noticeable progress will begin happening very, very rapidly.  Check out the new pictures.

February 3 Update:  Well after several weeks of nasty weather, work has picked back up on the building.  Currently they are working on the roof.  As of this afternoon about 3/4 of the south side of the roof is on.  Check out the new pictures to see for yourself.

January 8 Update:  Check out the new pictures!!  Work has begun on the roof, plumbers are begining to rough in pipe, and the well is being drilled!!  Pray for good weather -- the better the weather, the faster the project goes.

December 9 Update:  Some bad weather has slowed things a bit, but work is still continuing.  Currently work is being done on the main floor (2nd level).  Once the structure is complete, concrete will be poured to make the floor.  After this part of the process is complete, work will begin on the roof, and subcontractors will begin work on the lower level, getting ready for the main slab to be poured.

November 14 Update:  A lot more steel is now up.  If you drive out to take a look, make sure you go stand on the upper drive area, right by Pleasant Valley Road.  The view from there is very impressive.

November 12 Update:  Steel is going up.  The size and scope of the building are really beginning to take shape.  If it doesn't rain, they expect to have a crane on sight tomorrow morning to start putting the roof beams in place.

November 5 Update:  Lots of new pictures up today.  All kinds of work is happening.  They tell us that the steel should start going up in little bits today or tomorrow!

October 23 Update:  There are a lot more blocks up.  You can see walls and even door frames for the downstairs bathrooms.  The concrete retaining wall is finished.  Take a drive out and look for yourself!

October 10 Update:  A few new pictures today, the walls are going up!

October 9 Update:  If you haven't been by the land lately, what are you waiting for?  Get in your car right now and drive out there and see what's happening.  The concrete retaining wall is almost finished, and the block work on the foundation is progressing nicely.  Go take a look for yourself, or check out the pictures on this website!

October 2 Update:  Work is progressing at a very rapid pace!  Today they are pouring cement into the forms that will be the retaining wall.  Trust me, that's a lot of cement.  Also there is now concrete block all the way around the footprint of the new building -- you can really see where the building is going to be -- very exciting.  Take a drive out the weekend and see all the progress on our new church home.

September 24 Update:  Concrete work has started!  There has been a constant line of cement trucks up and down Pleasant Valley Road today.  Check the pictures

September 23 Update:  WOW!! Work has really gotten started now.  Footers are being dug all around the building site.  Re-bar is being cut, and tied and put into place.  There is a job site trailer now on site.  And there was at least 5 heavy equipment machines running on the property this afternoon.  Take a look at the pictures to see some of what's going on!

September 10 Update:  Right now they are working on the drainage for the property.  Large plastic pipes are being laid in trenches, drainage swells are being dug.  And a lot of gravel and sand has been delivered to the site.  Don't forget to check the pictures on this website to see for yourself what's happening.

September 4 Update:  Dirt work continues (are you noticing a theme here?).  The footprint of the building is now very obvious.  And the entrance, driveways/roads are also beginning to take some definate shape.

August 25 Update:  Dirt work continues.  The "hill" has been formed -- this is the area that will be the upper parking area and the main entrance of the building.  The hill will also be the spot that the lower level will be built into (think walk-out basement).

August 21 Update:  We are about two weeks into the "site" work on the property -- estimates are at least a month of dirt work will be required.  As you can see from the pictures the "mound" is gone and the building site is beginning to take shape.  Check back for often for current updates!
